rongai route is the only route start from north side if Kenya
Its a 6 days 5 nights Mt. Kilimanjaro Climbing from Rongai Route and descending using Marangu route.
It begins on the northern side of the mountain and is the least travelled route. Experience a unique trekking and does not have many traffic.
Day 1:rongai route
We transfer to the starting point for climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro which is close to the Kenya border. The first night will be camping at the first cave.
Day 2:
After breakfast we start our climbing and views the plains of Kenya below and the spectacular Mawenzi Tarn above. We ascent to a height of 3800m. Dinner and camping for overnight at Third Cave.
Day 3: rongai route
Another day for acclimatization. We will spend the day in the vicinity of Third Cave taking gentle walks.
Day 4: rongai route
After breakfast ascent Rongai Route through the lunar desert of the Saddle, the lava-covered expanse between the two peaks Mawenzi and Kibo. We reach Kibo Hut at 4700m for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: rongai route
At midnight, we start for the final ascent to arrive at Uhuru Peak just after dawn. It is a 4 to 5 hour slow walk up increasingly steep scree to Gillman’s Point at 5690m followed by a further 1 to 2 hour walk around the crater rim to Uhuru Peak at 5896m of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
You will have incredible views of glaciers and the plains of Africa stretched out below you . After taking in this amazing view, we return by the same path past Kibo Hut and on downs the Marangu Route all the way to Horombo Hut for diner and overnight.
Day 6:rongai route
It just takes us about half the day to descend back down to the park gates at Marangu. Here we will be met and transferred back to the Arusha hotel. It is now time to celebrate your achievement. Overnight stay.
