Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Centre & Karen Blixen

Excursion to  Sheldrick Elephant  Orphanage, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum.

Pick up from your hotel to visit Daphane Sheldrick (Elephant orphanage) from 11oo hours to 1200hours then Giraffe Centre at 1200 hours and Karen Blixen Museum from 1330 hours to 1500hours.

Daphne Sheildreck:

It is a Kenya wildlife conservation charity founded in 1977 in the memory of David Sheldrich by his wife widow Daphane Sheldrick. Its an orphanage where elephant calves and Rhinos are rehabilitates. They release them  back into the wild when they are ready. It worth visiting and see humanitarian care the wildlife.

Giraffe Centre: later

The giraffe Centre is kept by the African fund of Endangered Wildlife is a sanctuary for the rare Rottchilds giraffe. Here can observe, see hand feed or even kiss the giraffe from a raised circular wooden structure.

Its quite an experience family fun day and a good place to get the close up photos that that eluded you on safari.

Karen Blixen Museum:

Its was once owned by Karen Blixen. He lived in the house and had a large coffee plantation.

The house was then later donated by Danish Government to the new Kenya government as an Independent gift.

It was used during the filming of Out of Africa.

The museum was opened to the public in 1986 and has continued to be very popular destination for international and local visitors.

It is the one of very interesting regional Museums and archeological and prehistoric sites of the National Museum of Kenya.
