Mt Longonot Hiking Tour
A hike on this mountain take about 2 hrs from the park gate to the rim of the crater and back.
For those going round the crater, the hike takes about 4 hrs for a round trip.
The path up the slope is pretty steep and slippery at some points, so you need to be reasonably fit for this hike.
The views from the crater rim however make every painful step worth the effort.
This days the hiking is of moderate difficulty with steep climbing. Terrain has fine dust with loose gravel in some areas of hike
Centered on a dormant volcano, Mount Longonot National Park protects the peak’s unique ecosystem.
A marked trail leads visitors through the wilderness area, with many spots providing scenic views across the mountainous landscape.
Departure from Nairobi at 0600 hours and return at 1800hours and drop off at Nairobi hotel or your residence.

NB:
This entire hike is over rough ground and some places have steep slopes .
Don’t underestimate dehydration, drink enough water at the end of each section and as required
