12 Days Kenya & Tanzania Budget Camping Safari

Day 01: Nairobi 12 Days Kenya & Tanzania Budget Camping Safari

Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi.  At the airport you will be met at by  Sierra Safaris representative. You will be transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. Accommodation at Kenya Comfort Hotel

Day 02: Nairobi – Amboseli

Breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi. After breakfast, depart for the Amboseli National park arriving in time for lunch. Amboseli, meaning salty dust is scenic with the majestic snow capped Mt Kilimanjaro towering the backdrop. Elephant herds here are plentiful, with other game including lion and plains herds. Enjoy your first game drive this afternoon in this game reserve. Accommodation: Amboseli Kibo Safari Camp

Day 03: Amboseli

Dawn being the most appropriate time for game viewing in this park, you will have an early game drive coinciding with the sun rise over the Kilimanjaro. You will later return to your camp for late breakfast. The rest of the day will be spent at leisure within the confines of the camp.
You will have another game drive in the afternoon.  Accommodation: Amboseli Kibo Safari Camp

Day 04: Amboseli – Lake Manyara

You will leave the Amboseli game reserve early morning, crossing the border at Namanga into Tanzania. You will have a lunch stop over at Arusha and later proceed for the Lake Manyara national park, Famous for its tree climbing lions.  Accommodation: Migunga Tented Camp Manyara

Day 05: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater

You will have a morning game drive before heading out to the Ngorongoro conservation area arriving at your lodge in time for lunch.
After lunch, you will have an escorted trek along the Ngorongoro carter rim.
Accommodation: Crater Forest Tented Camp

Day 06: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti

Early morning descend into the crater floor for wildlife viewing. The Black mane lions rule this unique crater area. There is also the Crater Lake which is home to thousands of migrant flamingos. Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino are also found here in greater concentrations than anywhere else in Africa. Ascend out of the crater then proceed for the Olduvai Gorge, where the “Nut Cracker Man” 1.75 million years old was discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey. The Olduvai museum has an excellent display of ancient artefacts. Continue for the Serengeti National park arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.  Accommodation: Ikoma Tented Camp Serengeti

Day 07 & 08: Serengeti National Park

Spend one full day game viewing in the Serengeti National park where it’s not unusual to find twenty to thirty lions living in the same pride. The annual wildebeest migration is the greatest wildlife spectacle every July to October when more than two million wildebeest and Zebras set off in search of permanent water and better grazing pastures in the Masai Mara. Overnight will be at a lodge in Serengeti. Accommodation: Ikoma Tented Camp Serengeti

Day 09: Serengeti – Masai Mara

Embark on an early morning spectacular game drive over the vast plains of Serengeti, crossing the Kenya Tanzania border at Isebania, continue with the drive into the Mara arriving at you camp for dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation: Ol Moran Tented Camp

Day 10 & 11: Masai Mara

Spend two complete days in the Masai Mara options of having Morning and evening game drives or full day game drives. This Masai Mara reserve is famous for the vast herds of migrating wildebeest which culminates with the grand finale crossings at the crocodile infested Mara River. This is an annual spectacle led by biological instincts in search of greener and fresher pastures. Accommodation: Ol Moran Tented Camp

Day 12: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Depart Masai Mara after breakfast returning to Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi in time for lunch at the famous Carnivore restaurant. Transfer to the airport for your outbound international flight.

Start Nairobi – end the tour in Nairobi or Arusha
